Artisans specialized in the reproduction of classical works in Carrara

Fratelli Poletti e Ghio is a company specialised in the creation of funeral monuments and religious sculptures. At our workshop located in Carrara, Via Provinciale Avenza Carrara 111, our artisans create sculptures from marble and various other materials. These range from the reproduction of classical works, made possible due to its range of chalks derived from old specimens, to the most modern designs.

Over 50 years of marble-working experience

When they first started in 1963, the Giovanni, Tonino and Vittorio Poletti brothers, together with Luciano Ghio, decided to combine their respective skills, each gained in various well-known, local workshops to create their own craft company. The former "Poletti e Ghio - Sculture Caminetti and Arte Funeraria" workshop was located in Via Stabio, in Carrara, under the picturesque arch of the old Marmiferous Railway.

Today the owners of the company are the two brothers Giovanni and Tonino, and Giovanni's son, Stefano Poletti. The company has a new studio, in via Provinciale Nazzano 111, and has become a real reference point locally, in the production of funeral and religious works, and the reproduction of classical works.

50 years of marble carving

For over 50 years, the Fratelli Poletti e Ghio company has won numerous awards. They have also participated in various national and international exhibitions, where their works have always been notably praised. The company has also obtained the diploma of merit at the XXXVI International Crafts Exhibition in Florence, and first place for its sculptures at the Carrara Marble Craft Show.
